Announcements - Posted March 31, 2020

March 30, 2020, Governor Edwards announced that all schools in Louisiana are to remain closed until April 30, 2020 due to the Coronavirus Pandemic.

Beginning Wednesday, March 31st, in an effort to help with social distancing, there will be no more bus delivery meals for students.  Grab and Go lunches and breakfasts will be provided and will be ready for pick up at Bogalusa High School and Byrd Avenue. At BHS, the pick-up spot will be behind the gym and cafeteria. There will be tables set up for pick up. At Byrd Avenue, the pick-up will be in front of the school. You need not get out of your car, you simply drive up and the number of meals you need will be handed to you.  The time for pickup at both schools is 10:30-12:00.  Please be patient as this new way of distribution begins.

We want our Gator Family to stay healthy.  Please follow these guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control:

  • Limit Social Interactions: The key to slowing the spread of COVID-19 is to limit contact as much as possible. While school is out, children should not have playdates with children from other households. If children are playing outside their own homes, it is essential that they remain 6 feet from anyone who is not in their own household.

  • Practice Social Distancing: Avoid large and small gatherings in private places and public spaces, such a friend’s house, parks, restaurants, shops, or any other place. This advice applies to people of any age, including teens and younger adults.

  • Clean Hands Often: Make sure children practice everyday preventive behaviors, such as washing their hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. This is especially important if you have been in a public place.
